On 11th August 2025, the Bhutan Shooting Federation had the privilege of welcoming Mr. Hiroako Ishida, International Program Manager, and Mr. Yosuki Ishii, Executive Director from the Foundation for Global Children, Japan.
Their visit rekindled warm memories of past collaborations and reaffirmed the enduring friendship between Bhutan and Japan. Meeting with senior shooters, coaches, and our Head Coach, Mr. Dorji Phurpa, they expressed delight at the growing participation in shooting sports and the steady progress of our athletes.
Amid this joyful reunion, we also remembered the late Sir Miyazawa, the true backbone of Bhutan’s para-shooting journey. His unwavering dedication, generosity, and tireless efforts laid the very foundation of shooting sports in Bhutan. Though no longer with us, it felt as if he were present—smiling warmly, sharing his trademark humor, and celebrating the moment alongside us. His legacy continues to inspire every para-shooter and every athlete we nurture.
We remain deeply grateful for the Foundation’s continued support, the encouragement of our Japanese friends, and our shared vision of nurturing champions, strengthening communities, and building a bright sporting future.
